Kkdu Plum Brand Identity

The Background

Kkdu Plum’s founder and inventor Haydn Sharratt wanted to create something that would solve a real life problem. Haydn, and his young family lived close to the beach, but with towels, buckets, spades, bags and more, walking or cycling there was challenge. His idea was simple, create the world’s coolest bike trailer so that he could leave the car in the garage and still bring all the gear he needed for a family day at the beach.

The Project

Haydn asked Yoke to come on board as the branding agency for his exciting new venture. The aim was to communicate the freedom, ease and outdoor lifestyle that Kkdu Plum represented as a brand. Each colour in the identity’s vibrant palette was drawn from nature and Yoke worked with Haydn and his paint supplier to ensure that these could be accurately reproduced on the trailers themselves.

The Results

The Kkdu Plum brand has had an amazing response here in Australia, across Europe and beyond. It has been recoginsed with a number of awards including a silver at the 2016 New York Design Awards and as finalist in the product design category at the Premiers Design Award. In 2017 the brand is pushing into new markets with some exciting new products and collaborations on the horizon.
